Marshmallow Math

As a culminating activity in our study of geometry, we constructed shapes and solid figures using toothpicks and marshmallows. The toothpicks represented the number of sides or edges and the marshmallows represented the corners or vertices.

PS- It was pajama day, which is why we are still in our pjs and have our stuffed animals with us!

Those sneaky leprechauns!

Those sneaky leprechauns were at it again! When we arrived to school on St. Patty's Day, we found that they had left our room a complete mess!

We couldn't believe it!

They knocked over the rocking chair...

and took out the blocks and calendar folders.

And then we realized they left us some treats!

Green Eggs...

and ham?

I do!

We do! We do like green eggs and ham! We do like them, Sam I Am!

As part of our celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday, we taste-tested green eggs and ham! Almost all of us really liked green eggs and ham. So, that leaves us to ask you...

"Do you like green eggs and ham?"

100th Day!

On February 14th, we celebrated our 100th day in kindergarten! We spent the afternoon rotating among several different 100th day themed centers.

We decorated 100th Day crowns!

We made sure our dalmatians had 100 spots!

We created portraits of what we think we will look like when we are 100!

We stamped 100 fingerprints!

We had a special 100 snack!

It was a great 100th day in room 16!

Run, run, as fast as you can!

You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!

Last week, we had quite an adventure with our Gingerbread Man friends! After reading several versions of the classic tale, we made our very own tasty cookies. Mrs. Bradshaw took the cookies home to bake them in her oven on Wednesday night. She watched them very carefully to make sure they didn't escape from the oven. Even Macey, the dog, kept a close eye on those sneaky little guys!

On Thursday, Mrs. Bradshaw brought the cookies back to school. She showed them to the class first thing in the morning, but when we went to get them to decorate, THEY WERE GONE! We chased them all over the school building, following the clues they left for us along the way. We finally found them back in the classroom, after they visited many different places throughout our school.
